At the heart of Red Bull's global sports universe is the Sports Data Platform (SDP), the technical foundation that turns data into a competitive advantage. We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to play a central role in building and shaping this platform. This is a unique opportunity to own and evolve a critical data system that serves Red Bull's sports and athletes worldwide.
As the lead technical expert for the platform, your role is to be both the architect and a key builder. You are responsible for shaping the roadmap for our next-generation data systems and overseeing the code and quality for critical enhancements. Success in this position means delivering high-quality, scalable technical solutions that empower our data science and analytics stakeholders, all while working in close partnership with teams across the business.
All the responsibilities we'll trust you with:
As a Senior Data Engineer, you own the technical blueprint for the platform's future. This involves designing solutions, documenting them clearly, and driving the key architectural discussions to ensure alignment across teams.
You are responsible for the technical steering of our external development partners, setting engineering standards, performing code reviews, and ensuring their work integrates seamlessly and meets our high bar for quality.
In this role, you work closely with our Data Science team and other business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into a clear, actionable technical roadmap.
You own and drive the complete technical lifecycle of our core data platform, ensuring that pipelines, processing frameworks, and platform services continuously mature in scalability, resilience, and enterprise readiness as demand grows.
You act as a senior technical counterpart to product management, data science, and business leaders, shaping architectural decisions and ensuring transparency on platform capabilities, constraints, and trade-offs.
In addition, you help steer the delivery of strategic initiatives by aligning stakeholders, clarifying scope, and ensuring execution remains consistent with technical direction.
