The New York Red Bulls are one of 29 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS). RBNY, one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, have competed in the league since its founding in 1996. The Red Bulls play home matches at Red Bull Arena (RBA) in Harrison, New Jersey. The three-time MLS Supporters' Shield Winners are owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull for which the team is named. The New York Red Bulls offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams.

 

The Sr. Director is responsible for leading and managing the Club’s HR team and agenda within the Red Bull soccer business by providing deep operational expertise coupled with setting the strategic framework and driving change as needed.  This position is part of the Leadership Team and advises, drives and executes on all HR related topics of people, organization and processes that will enable performance in line with the goals of the Club, RBI and RB Global.

EXPERIENCE

Your areas of knowledge and expertise

that matter most for this role:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or experience in lieu of degree. SHRM certificate prefferred. 
  • Minimum of 15 years of business partner experience within an internal matrix environment working with senior leaders
  • Experience with deep intercultural exchange and alignment with a Global Corporate HQ organization
  • Deep knowledge of HR and Payroll systems, SAP and Ceridian strongly preferred
  • Proven experience with developing and executing an HR strategy
  • Project and change management experience leading transformation and change initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience with implementing learning & development programs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships
  • Operational excellence with a customer-focused mentality and hands-on approach
  • Ability to quickly synthesize information and provide actionable solutions
  • Ability to manage in a complex matrix environment, political savvy
  • High degree of accountability, entrepreneurial mindset
  • Team player, ability to motivate others
  • Sense of humor
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, the employee may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the company.
  • Travel 0-10%
