The Red Bulls play home matches at Red Bull Arena (RBA) in Harrison, New Jersey. The three-time MLS Supporters' Shield Winners are owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull for which the team is named. The New York Red Bulls offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams.
The Sr. Director is responsible for leading and managing the Club’s HR team and agenda within the Red Bull soccer business by providing deep operational expertise coupled with setting the strategic framework and driving change as needed. This position is part of the Leadership Team and advises, drives and executes on all HR related topics of people, organization and processes that will enable performance in line with the goals of the Club, RBI and RB Global.

- Drive and advise on all people related topics
- Ensure that all operational and strategic HR topics are understood and executed successfully
- Provide data driven insights and analysis for people related measures to guide and develop key people-focused areas
- Partner with leadership to proactively assess people resources and consistently ensure those resources are optimally allocated to support business needs and strategic priorities
- Develop the annual departmental business plan in line with the Club’s strategic priorities
- Connect and exchange with the global HR teams supporting the soccer entities to exchange best practices
- Execute global business processes including headcount/personal cost forecasting and annual compensation planning
- Lead the annual salary review process working in close collaboration with Global HQ, RBI and local management
- Proactively obtain and assess market data to support talent attraction and retention
- Ensure that all payroll functions are met including the bi-weekly payroll as well as union-related and governmental audits
- Develop an overarching talent acquisition strategy to include sourcing methodology as well as assessment & selection guidelines
- Leverage Smart Recruiter tool in all facets to support acquisition & selection strategy
- Identify and evaluate key hiring metrics (i.e. time to fill)
- Partner with hiring managers to determine best sourcing approach on an individual position basis
- Conduct professional interviews based on deep expertise and ability to assess candidate capabilities for both short-term and long-term potential
- Conduct training on the recruitment process for hiring managers
- Drive the talent management agenda including onboarding, development planning and the performance review process
- Challenge and support managers to lead and develop their team members
- Enable and support managers to define individual training needs and provide solutions based on RB training catalogue
- Implement global and local training tools as needed
- Develop an overarching D&I strategy ensuring equity in key processes to include: talent acquisition & selection, compensation management, performance management and career development/progression
- Key member of Club’s D&I Committee
- Ensure adherence to implementation of MLS mandated unconscious bias training
- Drive the annual engagement approach by encouraging all team members to participate in the survey and action planning
- Investigate, assess and provide recommendations for complex employee relations matters including those involving senior leadership
- Serve as a key steward for the Club culture>conduct regular check-ins with employees across the Club to maintain an active pulse on the culture
- Manage programs focused on the health and safety of team members
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, league and RB required topics (i.e. annual EEOC reporting, anti-harassment training)
Your areas of knowledge and expertise
that matter most for this role:
- Bachelor's degree preferred or experience in lieu of degree. SHRM certificate prefferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of business partner experience within an internal matrix environment working with senior leaders
- Experience with deep intercultural exchange and alignment with a Global Corporate HQ organization
- Deep knowledge of HR and Payroll systems, SAP and Ceridian strongly preferred
- Proven experience with developing and executing an HR strategy
- Project and change management experience leading transformation and change initiatives
- Demonstrated experience with implementing learning & development programs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships
- Operational excellence with a customer-focused mentality and hands-on approach
- Ability to quickly synthesize information and provide actionable solutions
- Ability to manage in a complex matrix environment, political savvy
- High degree of accountability, entrepreneurial mindset

- Due to the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, the employee may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the company.
