Scuderia Alpha Tauri has an exciting opportunity to join our Aerodynamics department in Bicester (UK) as a Senior Aerodynamicist. Working in one of our development teams, the role will involve all aspects of aerodynamic development including concept definition, testing and analysis of experimental and numerical simulations. You will also be involved in developing innovative thinking, tools and processes and will be required to mentor less experienced aerodynamicists.
All the responsibilities we'll trust you with:
Work with the team leader and deputy team leader to develop innovative aerodynamic concepts.
Create new geometries using CAD.
Submit geometries to test in both WT and CFD and manage the process.
Analyse results from CFD and wind tunnel and recommend track test of performant geometrie
Define, specify and manage effective and efficient wind tunnel tests.
Conduct wind tunnel testing (some shift work will be required).
Oversee the work of aerodynamicists and junior aerodynamicists within their group. Advise and mentor them to improve their skills set.
Suggest, investigate, (and where applicable) implement new methods and processes to improve efficiency of aerodynamic ideas generation, design, testing, analysis and reporting.
Maintain and develop good relationships with aero performance group, aerodynamics development group leaders and senior aero management.
Communicate effectively with other groups such as model design, model shop, aero technology group, CFD group, aero production and wind tunnel systems group.
To work in a professional manner at all times regardless of the task set and be pro-active in promoting a positive image for the department / team/ sponsors
